We do not guarantee that this is the last answer to this question - but a new study determined that it is best to exercise in the afternoon. Here are his reasons

It may be one of the most researched and confusing areas, but new research suggests that exercising in the afternoon may lead to a longer life.

The study, published last week in the journal Nature Communications, found that those who exercise in the afternoon are less likely to die prematurely from heart disease than those who exercise before 11 a.m. or after 5 p.m.

Still, the researchers determined that moderate or vigorous physical activity, such as brisk walking, at any time of the day increases life expectancy and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer compared to little or no activity.

Researchers collected information from more than 92,000 participants registered with the UK Biobank, which maintains health data for around 500,000 UK residents.

They grouped participants by exercise frequency and time, analyzed their seven-day activity data using accelerometers, which can record activity continuously, and tracked mortality records.

They found that the afternoon time frame, from 11:00 to 17:00, was most beneficial for men and the elderly.

The researchers noted that this is the time when people are least likely to experience a heart attack.

An article published in the New York Post quoted Dr. Randy Goudreau, a cardiologist at Grand Strand Heart & Vascular Care in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who was not involved in the study. Dr. Goudreau said that heart attacks are more likely to occur in the morning.

"Most heart attacks strike in the early morning hours from 4 to 10 in the morning, when the blood platelets are more sticky, and there is increased adrenaline from the adrenal glands that can trigger the rupture of plaque in the coronary arteries."

On the other hand, a recent study on mice concluded that morning exercise may help increase metabolism and burn more body fat.

Researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark studied two groups of mice - one that performed high-intensity physical activity in the morning and one that did it in the evening - and found that the morning group burned more fat.

"Our results suggest that late morning exercise may be more effective than late evening exercise in terms of increasing metabolism and burning fat, and if this is the case, it may prove valuable for overweight people," the researchers said.
