first reported, the supermarket chain is planning “completely without Mars”, as it says there.
"We can confirm that Mars has imposed a unilateral delivery freeze on Edeka," said a company spokeswoman when asked by wa.de.

The reason for this is the "unjustified and excessive price increases" by Mars.
Edeka “cannot accept this in the interests of our customers,” said the spokeswoman.
Edeka therefore replaced around 450 affected products from the Mars Group.

these accounted for a sales volume of over 300 million euros.
In addition to confectionery such as Mars, Snickers and M&M's, Mirácoli brand pasta has also flew off the shelves – with which Edeka had advertised quite offensively and at times provocatively.

No information about a possible return of Mars products at Edeka
According to Edeka, the demand for alternative brands and the generally inexpensive own brands “in the relevant product ranges has increased significantly,” said the spokeswoman.
The supermarket chain did not answer "for reasons of competition" whether the end of products from Mars was final or whether an agreement with the company was completely impossible.

The food company Mars has been fighting for higher prices for the last year and had temporarily stopped its deliveries to Edeka and its competitor Rewe due to the tough negotiations.
