Jazz is back with a bang at the Châtelet

The theater is organizing a festival dedicated to the genre for the first time. With an eclectic poster, including some heavyweights.


The old jazz lovers, those who had heard Miles Davis play there with so much ardor in May 1982, had ended up casting a somewhat disillusioned look at the Théâtre du Châtelet.

In recent times, the musical genre did not often pass through the doors of the Second Empire building.

The last arrival of an American giant goes back, for example, to the concert of pianist Brad Mehldau, in 2010. But now jazz, just bereaved by the death of saxophonist Wayne Shorter, is making its comeback thanks to a week-long festival, Le Châtelet does its jazz!.
