The blue Sofia Goggia won her fourth downhill world cup

after those of 2018-2021 and 2022.

The mathematical certainty of success arrived even before she took to the track in the Kvitfijell descent and after her only potential rival, the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec, had momentarily placed third, thus obtaining too few points to be able to overtake Sofia.

FIFTH CUP FOR SHIFFRIN

US champion Mikaela Shiffrin won her fifth Alpine Ski World Cup with seven races to go to the end of the season.

Shiffrin had the mathematical certainty of winning the fifth cup - after those of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022 - even before concluding Kvitfjell's CDM descent when the only potential rival, the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami, arrived behind them maintaining an unbridgeable gap of more than 700 points from the American.
