In Bramsche near Osnabrück there was an act of violence on Sunday night.
"There was a homicide," said a police spokeswoman for the dpa news agency on Sunday morning.
As the public prosecutor's office confirmed to SPIEGEL, the victim is a girl.
The "Bild" newspaper first reported on the case.
According to prosecutors, the girl disappeared from an 18th birthday party, was later found and taken to the hospital.
The girl died there, it was said.
The town in Lower Saxony made the headlines last Tuesday: a 16-year-old had been shot at, and the teenager later succumbed to his serious injuries.
