2023-03-05T20:24:06.731Z

'Online membership reopened, soon also in clubs', said the secretary of the Democratic Party to Che tempo che fa. Then again: 'Landini-Conte? There is a desire for concrete and orderly opposition'. Risks of split? 'Absolutely not. We will work together without giving up a clear direction' (ANSA)

"On Monday, just after the victory, I had already announced that we would reopen the membership as soon as possible" and "I am pleased to announce that we have already reopened it online on the site and we are already working with the clubs to be able to go and do it throughout the territory. I do an appeal to the people of the primaries: come we need you, come and be part of this democratic community".

Thus the secretary of the Pd Elly Schlein to Che tempo che fa on Rai tre.

"A victory against the odds that came without them seeing us coming and because we immediately felt, since I applied, a lot of warmth since the hope that we then saw in the extraordinary participation in the gazebo had awakened and which says that the There is a Pd. I believed in it a lot, this wave is moving and it is not an organized consensus but based on word of mouth".

Is the photo of you with Conte and Landini at the demonstration in Florence the plastic vision of the party you imagine?

"In the meantime, I want to underline the extraordinary participation of 40,000 people who gave the best response to a squad action - explained Elly Schlein -. I believe that yesterday we found on concrete issues the need and desire for an effective and ordinary opposition Something that I also launch to other opposition forces" because "public schools are no joke".

"The time for personalism and internal conflict is over - he added -, it's all wasted energy compared to building an alternative to the right".

He then underlined that right from the start with Stefano Bonaccini "we wanted to demonstrate our desire to work together to safeguard pluralism, keep communities together but without giving up clear direction".

As for a possible role for Bonaccini "we are discussing forms and ways, we will discuss them".

"This is a government that in the first maneuver rewards tax evaders by raising the ceiling on cash, for example - the secretary of the Democratic Party later told Che tempo che fa, answering a question on assets -, which is going in the wrong direction by contrasting dependent and self-employed: we would like to be able to provide a certain system of protection that does not pit different fragilities against each other starting from the constitutional principle of progressivity, otherwise something will break in the social contract".

"I heard from Calenda and Conte after the primaries. I think we can do some battles like the one on the minimum wage and the defense of public health together."

Speaking of the massacre of migrants on the Calabrian coast, the secretary of the Democratic Party: "We were the first group that asked for information" from Minister Piantedosi "and he will come to report on the very serious events in Crotone. We need to establish responsibilities and the line understand who decided that the Gdf would intervene, which did not have adequate resources compared to the Coast Guard, which had the means to intervene".

"In the 7 hours following Frontex's report - he added - they went out twice and came back again. If there was concern, why didn't help go out? We launched the inspections to clarify because what happened is extremely serious, it is a deep wound on which the minister argued instead of asking the right question about what can be done.

I knew a mother who lost two daughters.

Before saying inhuman things, say what can be done to give protection".

Do you see risks of a split?

"Absolutely not", replied Elly Schlein, reiterating that "we will work to keep the party united without giving up a clear direction".

"I express total non-acceptance and condemnation of these phenomena of violence that we continue to see even in Turin, there can be no acceptance and tolerance, all my solidarity with the offices, not only diplomatic and consular, which have suffered attacks: we must keep clear the defense of the principles of democracy and pluralism, we cannot retreat an inch".
