Students in Italy are those who, more than all other European peers, want to pursue a career to change and improve the world.
Especially after the moments of solitude experienced during the lockdown.
Indeed, 81% of them, in fact, would like to make a difference in the world with their work and in many different fields such as medicine, psychology, physiotherapy or care for the environment by taking care of and assisting animals.
This was revealed by the "GoStudent Future of Education Report 2023", created by one of the world's leading online tutoring platforms, GoStudent.
Responding to the questionnaire were 1015 parents and 1015 children of Generation Z (born between 2006 and 2009) and Alpha (born between 2010-2012).

Young Italians are the most altruistic

They are the ones, that is, truly determined to leave a mark in the future to come.
The push also comes from the feeling experienced by children and adolescents during the darkest months of the pandemic: 65% of them felt isolated, as revealed by GoStudent's Education Report 2021.
It is the highest percentage in Europe.
A very high number, which however has also inspired and motivated them to try to work in professions that can return positive sensations.
It is precisely the desire to establish themselves from a working point of view, and in the profession of dreams, that pushes students in Italy to commit themselves to study: 94%, the highest figure if compared with that of other European countries, have decided to commit

92% - also in this case it is the highest value in Europe - not only want to fulfill themselves, but also want to start a brilliant and successful career, full of satisfactions.
90% of young people, however, are not willing to sacrifice social relationships, which they define as fundamental for improving themselves from a human point of view.
73% of male and female students count on enrolling in university: for the vast majority of jobs that most of them dream of doing, specific training is required, complete with a degree and qualification.

Generation Z and Alpha are driven, ambitious and have big dreams.
We reached out to the next generation of psychiatrists, scientists and economists and realized they had a desire for a more holistic learning experience, cultivating personal and social skills alongside math and science,” said Felix Ohswald, CEO and co-founder of GoStudent.
Parents agree with their children: 83% of parents in Europe think that
a good education is the key to young people's success.
However, due to the social and technological changes of recent years, 42% of mothers and fathers believe that it is right to look beyond the school system to improve the preparation of children and adolescents.
Among the tools deemed useful is online and therefore remote tutoring.
It would also allow those who live in suburban contexts to have more tools for learning than those who live in city contexts.
