There is a huge gap between the houses: in the morning there was an explosion in a residential area in Stuttgart-West.
Half of an apartment building collapsed.
Four people, including two children, were injured, a spokesman for the fire department said.
An 85-year-old is still missing, the rescue workers are looking for the woman.
During the night, part of the building was completely on fire.
The reason for the fire is still unclear, but a gas explosion is suspected.
Cars damaged, windows cracked
The surrounding houses were partially evacuated.
As local media reports, the residents stayed in buses until they were allowed to return to their homes.
Cars in front of the house were damaged, one vehicle burned out completely, said the fire department spokesman.
Some of the windows of the buildings in the neighborhood were cracked.
The fire brigade was on site with up to 100 emergency services.
