Congratulations on your release from the IDF! And what do you plan to do now? Assuming that the answer is not to immediately go on a trip after the army or to start studying shortly after release - now is the time to find a job. For most of you, this will be the first time you do this. Adi Ohion, Area Manager in Manpower offers tips for job seekers

Define the type of job you are looking for

Are you looking for a job in the north or maybe a short or long term job? Are you aiming for a job related to the field you are interested in studying later or are you aiming for a non-binding job of a few months that will only generate you some money for a trip after the army Before the actual search begins, you must answer these questions for yourself. The answers to them will help you focus and understand where to aim.

Invest in writing your resume

Your resume document must be written accurately and cleanly.

Without spelling/wording errors and with the full details of what you have done so far.

Since at this early stage of life you probably didn't do much occupationally - list temporary jobs you may have done during vacations, things you did voluntarily and even your military role.

It is quite possible that the experience you gained in it is a springboard for this or that job.

You can find guides for writing resumes on the Manpower website and it is also recommended to ask for help from family and friends in the craft of drafting.

Contact Manpower experts

A good placement company will know how to accompany you from the very first moment of the job search process.

We can advise you on writing your resume, we will explain to you how the selection process works and we will try to direct you to the most suitable job.

All of this is done for free, so there is absolutely nothing to gain here.

As soon as you are included in our database of job seekers - you will always be taken into account when a relevant position comes up.

that we refer you to a job interview, the fact that you came through us will provide you with a stamp of quality that the interviewing company takes into account.

Use social networks

Social networks are also a common tool for finding work.

Sign up for relevant job groups on Facebook, post the number you are looking for a job - "a friend brings a friend" is a very effective way to find a job.

Develop an account on the social-business network LinkedIn, which will not only help with networking but also brand you as serious.

Invest the required time in all of these, looking for a job is a job in itself.

Don't rule out temporary jobs

"Nothing is permanent from the temporary", according to a well-known saying.

And indeed, many of the temporary jobs become permanent later on.

Even if not - temporary work means gaining experience, something that is lacking for those who have just been released from the army.

Therefore, it is recommended to jump on any decent employment opportunity, even if it is defined as temporary.

You may also be interested in a job for a few months, after which you will start studying or go on a long trip.

Respond quickly and efficiently to employers' inquiries

An employer came back to you and offered a job interview exactly on the day and time you arranged with the guys?

Change the date of the meeting with them, they will not support you and he will.

You were at the interview, the employer called about continuing the process, but you are still not sure that the job is right for you?

Try to reach a conclusion quickly (if necessary, consult with people who know you well).

We live in a dynamic and fast world and missing an opportunity to jump on the bandwagon may result in it quickly moving on, with someone else in your place.

Make a serious impression at the job interview

Israel is an informal country - including in clothing - but ditch the shorts and flip-flops when you dress for the job interview.

A respectable appearance gives you a better and more serious image.

For the same reason, make sure not to be late for the interview.

It is even recommended to be a few minutes early.

Men, assuming you are not part of the beard growing trend - it is recommended that you shave before the interview instead of arriving with stubble that has lasted for a few days, which gives a somewhat sloppy look.

Learn in advance about the organization

before arriving for a job interview, it is important to do a little research on the place: what exactly is the company, what does it do, what is its size and what is its nature.

You will find everything easily on the Internet and with this information you can convey to the employer that you did not just try your luck with him, but that you really delved into his practice before you sat down in the interviewer's chair and that you are specifically interested in working there.

Such an approach indicates the seriousness of the candidate and his intentions and provides you with an advantage in the competition for the position.

"In conclusion," says Adi Ohion, "I recommend getting out of your comfort zone. In the end, the army is an incubator. When you get out of it - you either get very scared or you want to devour the world. It's important to balance, not to be afraid and just dare."
