In 2019, the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show was officially cancelled, after 25 years in which the lingerie company provided the most beloved television show.
This milestone was actually the beginning of a change for a brand that was heavily criticized for objectifying women, the extreme thinness seen on the runways, an excess of sex over comfort and gimmicks and the peak of sexual harassment cases, including the one in which the name of Jeffrey Epstein was associated.
CFO Timothy Johnson announced that VS is bringing back the Angels but this time the look and feel will be different – “It will lead us into new spaces like bringing back one of our best marketing and entertainment properties to date and transforming it to reflect who we are today.
We are excited to share more later this year."

Now the question is how will the balance be expressed?
Nevertheless, this is a lingerie company, the product needs to be sold, which means - women will walk in underwear and a bra.
The speculation is that maybe they will give up the wings, show a variety of sizes on the runway and try to find the sexy balance in how to empower a woman without being just the object of a man's fantasy.

The decision to return with the show in question comes after several strategic moves that have taken place in recent years.
In 2019, Valentina Sampaio was chosen to star in the brand's campaign and thus became the first transgender model of Victoria's Secret.
In 2022, Sophia Gero, a model with Down syndrome, was cast in the brand's bra campaign, plus size models were also featured, and Hailey Bieber, the face of the brand in the past year, is helping to restore affection to the unruly brand.
"We believe we are two years into a five-year journey in turning our business around," added CFO Johnson, "and we have a clear roadmap to becoming the world's leading fashion retailer of intimate apparel."
