The relationship between the model
Gigi Hadid
and the singer
Zayn Malik
ended on particularly harsh notes, but the two who share a tiny daughter decided to put their murky relationship aside in favor of co-parenting in the best way for her.
The model was recently interviewed by The Sunday Times and talked about her relationship with her ex and the co-parenting they share for their two-year-old daughter
Kai
.
During the interview, she shared that she makes sure to schedule her work for times when little Kai is with her father: "The fact that she can be with both of her parents makes me very happy," she said.
Later in the interview, she was asked if she had any advice for those who are co-parenting, and she said: "Just keep the importance of the child's happiness in the first place. You have a long life next to this person."
Hadid (27) shared about her relationship with her daughter and being a young mother: "She's already given me so much. I always wanted to be a mother, but I wasn't obsessed with it. I've always been organized, so having Kai while I was having her was a blessing. I am very happy to be a young mother."
The British model and singer had a relationship that knew many ups and downs since 2015. They broke up and got back together several times over the years and in September 2020 they became parents.
A year later, the two parted in a particularly stormy separation, after Gigi's mother,
Yolanda Hadid
, filed a complaint with the police against Malik for allegedly hitting her, which later opened Pandora's box for the two's relationship, which turned out to be destructive and toxic.
Walla!
Celebs also share joint custody of Maurice, her pet rat.
