According to a recent study published in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior, people seem to spend
a sixth
of their lives trying to improve their appearance.
Survey data was collected from 93,158 participants in 93 different countries and cultures and analyzed to discover universal beauty trends.

Almost all survey participants admitted to spending at least 10 minutes improving their appearance each day.
The international research team referred to the use of cosmetics, hair care, clothing style, body hygiene, physical activity and dietary habits as actions taken to improve appearance.
Unsurprisingly, it has been shown that women waste more time than men on average, with four hours a day and men three and a half hours.
