Lego closed the 2022 financial year with revenues of 64.6 billion Danish kroner (approximately 8.7 billion euros), up 17% compared to the previous year, an operating profit up 5% to 17.92 billion (2.4 billion euros) and net profits up almost 4% from 13.28 to 13.78 billion crowns (1.85 billion euros).

These are, explains a note, "strong results, which significantly outperform the toy market and make it possible to gain market share", with a performance that was driven by the "strong demand" of the group's product portfolio, by partnerships with both online and physical retailers, a "robust" e-commerce platform and a "resilient" global sourcing network.

“2022 was a pivotal year for the Lego Group as we celebrated our 90th birthday. Our strong results demonstrate that the Lego game system is more relevant and attractive than ever before,” said Chief Executive Niels B Christiansen.

“I am very pleased with our performance. We achieved double-digit revenue growth and ended 2022 above expectations thanks to exceptional growth and despite challenging market conditions.”

In 2023 Lego sees revenue growth slow to a growth, however higher than that of the toy market, and will continue to accelerate investments in strategic initiatives.
