The Wednesday Style: Jenna Ortega's Great Looks Parade - Voila! Fashion

2023-03-08T05:36:55.873Z

In perfect timing for the popular costume of Purim 2023, we decided to examine the (real) style of the star of the hit Netflix series "Wednesday" Jenna Ortega

When we're still on the steam of Purim, and every splash of the feed or brave outing with the kids to the holiday events brings up at least one Vansday look-alike, that dim figure with the iconic braids that swept the world as the heroine of the hit Netflix series - this is the proof that this is one of the most popular costumes out there .

But we want to stick to Jenna Ortega's enchanted style and dress like her all year round!

Or at least for events that require investment.

All that is needed is free access to the collections of the best super brands, luggage of a morbid attitude, and a playful look from a freezing maach.

Until that happens, scroll to be impressed by the parade of great looks including "Wesday", this is the actress

Jenna Ortega

, from a recent injury.

The 20-year-old brunette beauty "stands up" to a height of 1.55 meters, and proves that even small women can conquer any space full of stars and turn heads.

This is exactly what she did this week in New York on the occasion of the premiere of the slasher "Scream 6", when she appeared on the red carpet next to her cast mates, including Hayden Pantier and Courteney Cox.

Ortega wore a slinky Jean Paul Gaultier couture frock from the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection - which is actually a 'deconstructed' white men's button-down, which, along with a black tuxedo, has been reassembled into a sultry mini dress.

Ortega completed the look with deep burgundy lipstick, Tiffany diamonds around her neck and sky high platform sandals.

Even the fashion mishap, in the form of a blue ink stain on the gray shirt-dress, could not cloud the gorgeous look.

The close work with the stylist Enrique Melendez, who has accompanied her from the beginning of her acting career as a young girl, is paying off, because fashion-wise Ortega is at her peak.

Only the choice of her as the ambassador of the sports giant Adidas is still not completely understandable to us.

Melendez manages to translate the morbid-chic vibe of the captivating character that his talent embodies into her off-screen performances as well.

Lace dresses, corsets, big pointy collars, and especially a lot of black.

Including in the beauty section, whether it's a touch of gothic glam in the hair (which is always carefully sloppy) or dramatic eye makeup.

"Wesday" has long since become Ortega's alter ego, or the talented actress simply never gets out of character.

Melendez's clothing choices for his muse range from distinctly gothic looks inspired by the dark and cynical character that Ortega plays, to romantic dresses in soft colors and a period fragrance.

For a private Golden Globes after party, the star went glam gothic in a black and white Dolce & Gabbana ensemble that included a mesh bodice with an oversized collar (which Vansday would easily have adopted), paired with black pants, a blazer thrown nonchalantly over her shoulders, and she clutched a gold clutch.

For the Saint Laurent menswear show in Paris, Ortega posed in a super sleek look wearing an iconic hooded dress with a bare back, which French fashion house designer Anthony Vaccaro brought to life with designs from the mid-eighties.

The dramatic make-up, the wavy "wet" bangs that popped up, and the golden bracelets she loaded on her wrists, together and individually completed the eighties style that her performance echoed.

And we refuse to forget the spectacular look with which she was a guest on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" last December - a black dress by Dolce & Gabbana with contrasting collar and cuffs in white, teamed with a black tie and a crazy metallic corset belt.

On the Golden Globes red carpet, Ortega ditched gothic-chic for soft romance, with a flowing copper Gucci dress that boasted crazy cut-outs along her stomach.

While at the Sag Awards last month, she sizzled in a black glitter-finish Versace dress, featuring an asymmetric bodice, a thigh-high slit and a belt with the Italian fashion house's signature medusa head logo buckle.

Sandals on platform heels and peep-toes are a safe choice that Ortega repeats many times.

In recent days, the beautiful actress has also been spotted in blocks on the pure casual side, that is, compared to the dramatic looks we are used to getting from her - whether she was caught on the paparazzi's lens walking around in a black leather trench coat by Sportmax (with a price tag of $1,568), or being interviewed to promote the film. Shout out 6" Bo stars in an olive green suit by Dion Lee, which includes a top that boasts a bodice cut of course with hooks in the front.
