Geraldine Molinaro (28)

, a young tiktoker from La Plata who had more than 238,000 followers, died after battling cancer for several years, a process that she recounted through her social networks.

Geral, as she was known, had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma since she was very young, when she was 14 years old.

In her TikTok account (Geralmolinaro) she had become well known for

sharing her story, reporting on types of cancer

, dialoguing with her community, and helping other people going through the disease.

A fan of Estudiantes de La Plata and a graduate in Tourism and Hospitality, the young woman from La Plata

had also been diagnosed with skin cancer about four years ago.

"Through a study called a scintigram, they realized that I had metastases in the sentinel nodes, which they had to operate on to remove them. I have been doing check-ups every three months for all these years," he wrote in a post in November.

"After doing some studies, I was diagnosed with multiple brain metastases. This is my story and I'm telling you…

I'm not fighting cancer, I'm fighting to live.

One day at a time," he said.

Since then, he has also filled stories of going to see the Pincha, answering questions that he wrote down in his notebook about the treatment he was undergoing.

According to what he told her,

that gave him strength.

Her family was in charge of breaking the news through the young woman's Instagram account.

"On the day of the women's struggle,

Geral, you decided to fly high.

Our consolation is knowing that you no longer suffer and we thank you for these months fighting with such courage and resistance. For us you won everything, we deeply admire you," they wrote.

"Thank you for giving us these months by your side,

where we were able to fill you with love so that you can take it with you wherever you decide to go. We also keep every minute of yours treasured in our hearts forever. Do not forget us. We are eternally proud of you", closed the post signed by Geral's parents.

Immediately, the post was filled with comments from followers wishing strength for the family and regretting his departure.

"I think that many of us here hurt as if Geri were part of our family.

I hug them with a lot of love.

They are a beautiful family," wrote a user.

Another of the messages said: "I became attached to her as if she were a friend. Every day I watch TIKTOK or Instagram to see news about her and how she was doing. A big hug to the whole family. She was a warrior. Honor her life

.

She I would like you guys to lift your head and keep going for her. I'm so sorry. Strength."

"We want to thank all the beautiful community that Geral created with her videos for having accompanied her these months and for often being the push to get up and film the news for them. Thank you for all the love you made her feel. Thank you also for the

love

towards us at this sad time," the family wrote in another post.
