(ANSA) - RIMINI, MARCH 10 - The National Alpine Association has presented a manifesto and a manual against harassment of women.
An initiative which, together with the awareness-raising meetings on the subject launched in the national sections, comes after the various reports on social media from last year's meeting in Rimini.
It was in the Romagna capital that the National Alpine Association presented its project.
"Society no longer tolerates jokes and gestures with a sexual background", "judging those who suffer, turning away are wrong reactions".
"Full equality between men and women is the true basis of a culture of respect".
These are some of the points of the manifesto entitled #controlemolesties.
"It is an initiative that we certainly had to put in place, especially for what happened after the national meeting in Rimini last year", said the vice president of ANA Lino Rizzo on the sidelines of the presentation of the project.
"We want to go to the next meeting in Udine in May with all the serenity that has always distinguished us. Aware of what happened, because we have not been insensitive".
However, the association insists on rejecting the two Alpine equal molesters.
"There is no need to apologize" compared to what happened a year ago, "because our national president already apologized after the Gathering saying: if any of our members has behaved harassingly, we apologize", explained the director de 'L'Alpino Massimo Cortese, who made the following comparison: "It would be like if the Carabinieri were apologizing because a marshal killed his wife's lover".
The initiative includes awareness-raising meetings in the eighty national sections of the Alpini.
"Together with them and working with some feminists and activists we have drafted two documents", explained the curator of the project Paola Miglio who defines herself as a "feminist".
The manifesto "takes a strong stand against harassment," which "should be a stand all men take," she added.
