Camila Giorgi was eliminated in the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells (USA).
The tennis player from the Marches surrendered, after just under 2 hours of play, to the number 3 in the ranking, the American Jessica Pegula, who won with a score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Pegula in the third round will have to contend with the Russian Anastasia Potapova, number 26 of the seeding.
Matteo Berrettini's bad moment continues, as he was eliminated at the debut of the "Bnp Paribas Open" tournament, the first Atp Masters 1000 of the season, taking place on hard courts in Indian Wells, California.
After more than two and a half hours of play, the Roman tennis player was defeated by the Japanese Taro Daniel (103 in the world) in the third set: after losing the first in the tie-break, Berrettini (ATP number 23) won the second without problems but he had to give in in the decisive one not without regrets.
The final score for the Japanese is 7-6 (5), 0-6, 6-3.
