Quite often there is a lot of pressure on men to last longer before they cum.

A new review has suggested that practicing yoga may be your best bet for delaying orgasm for up to three times as long.

The scientific review, published in Trends in Urology & Men's Health, analyzed various techniques that claim to help men last longer during sex without using erectile dysfunction drugs like Viagra.

Led by researchers from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, the review focused on men who suffered from premature ejaculation.

Thought to say that premature ejaculation is not a stressful medical issue, and an estimated 30 percent of men said they have experienced it at some point in their lives.

But when someone always or almost always ejaculates within one to three minutes of penetration, or fails to delay ejaculation every time or almost every time, or finds himself avoiding sexual intercourse because of this, the person can be diagnosed as suffering from a disease.

Premature ejaculation is associated with a variety of problems, including psychological distress, poor self-esteem, anxiety, decreased libido and poor interpersonal relationships, according to the review.

"Strategies for men to help them last longer in the bedroom can help improve their relationship with their partner and their self-esteem," said Professor Lee Smith, a public health expert at Anglia Ruskin University and senior author of the review.

For the purpose of the review, scientists studied 54 studies that enrolled about 3,500 men.

In one particular study involving men between the ages of 18 and 45, 35 participants were asked to run at least 30 minutes a day for five days a week, while others were told to walk a maximum of 30 minutes a day for five days a week.

It was found that relatively more active men improved sexual performance.

These men went from an average duration of 39 seconds during intercourse to more than 30 minutes compared to inactive men, who lasted 50 seconds, the study showed.

The more interesting study was the study where 26 men practiced yoga for 12 weeks.

Surprisingly, these men lasted three times as long before ejaculating—from an average of 26 seconds to nearly a minute and a half.

"This evidence is based on studies involving a small number of men, and we need more research in this area, but approaches such as exercise can help all men," Smith said.

"It's not just for men diagnosed with premature ejaculation."

"Most men may not have performed as well as they wanted at some point, and could benefit from lifestyle changes and techniques to help last longer," Smith added.
