At the Oscars, the sparkling performance of Rihanna, pregnant, under the loving gaze of Asap Rocky

The 35-year-old singer performed Lift Me Up, title of the credits Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, nominated for the Oscar for best song. For the occasion, she wore a custom Margiela outfit created by John Galliano which revealed her pregnant belly.

Rihanna delivered a dazzling performance on the Oscars stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles last night, a ceremony broadcast live on the American channel ABC.

The 35-year-old singer is indeed expecting her second child with her boyfriend, rapper A$AP Rocky.

The performance, followed by a standing ovation, was greeted by the latter who raised his glass in his honor.

Rihanna conquered the scene, wearing a Maison Margiela outfit created for her by designer John Galliano.

The set consisted of a black bra top cascading with sparkling jewels that draped her baby bump, and wide floral pants.

She additionally wore black leather gloves, dangling earrings and several layered necklaces.

The star revealed her pregnancy to the world in an all-red look during Super Bowl halftime last month.

She later confirmed her Oscar performance on Instagram by sharing a photo of her 9-month-old son in a tearful pose.

With this caption: “My son, when he found out that his brother or sister was going to the Oscars and not him”, she wrote with humor in her caption.

This is the first time Rihanna has been nominated for an Oscar.

The track

Lift Me Up

was co-written by singer and artists Tems, Ludwig Göransson and Ryan Coogler.

They wanted to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the interpreter of

Black Panther

who died in August 2020. However, it was the Indian film “RRR” which won the award for best song.
