(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 13 - Disappointment for Italy at the Oscars.
The 95th ceremony at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles left the Italian team without a prize, even if getting nominated is certainly already a great achievement.
Director Alice Rohrwacher returns without statuettes, given for a long time as favorite, nominated for an Oscar for the live action short LePupille, beaten by An Irish Goodbye by Tom Berkeley and RossWhite.
Nothing to do even for the veteran Aldo Signoretti in the Elvis make-up and hairstyling team: the award went to Adrien Morot, Judy Chin and Annemarie Bradley's make-up and hairstyling for Darren Aronofsky's The Whale.
There were also other Italians in the competition: the producers Ilbe by Andrea Iervolino and Lady Bacardi and We Do ItTogether by Chiara Tilesi for Tell It like a Woman, a collective film by 7 female directors including Maria Sole Tognazzi, in the competition for the best original song Dianne Warren applause won instead by Naatu Naatu from Indian film RRR.
And there was also the actor Lorenzo Zurzolo at the Oscars protagonist of Jerzy Skolimowski's film Eo among the candidates for best international film, whose prize was however won by German Edward Berger's All Quiet on the Western Front.
