Daniil Medvedev continues to run and takes his sixteenth victory in a row by overcoming the Belarusian Ilya Ivashka, number 85 in the world, by 6-2 3-6 6-1 and qualifying for the round of 16 at Indian Wells.
Now for the Russian a round of 16 against the German Alexander Zverev is on the horizon, who instead beat the Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori 7-5 1-6 7-5.
The 3rd seed, Casper Ruud, is out instead, overtaken in two sets 6-4 7-6 by the Chilean Cristian Garin, who gets his first qualification to the round of 16 at Indian Wells.
In the round of 16, Garin is expected to have a not impossible match against the Spanish Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who won 6-3 1-6 6.4 over the Russian Karen Khachanov.
The other Russian Andrej Rublev (7-5 6-3 to Ugo Humbert) and Cameron Norrie did well too, who instead won in a comeback 6-7 7-5 6-2 over Taro Daniel.
