The peak event of the awards season, aka the 2023 Oscar ceremony, took place tonight (Sunday) in Los Angeles, and attracted all the fat and fat of Hollywood.
On the glittering stage of the Dolby Theater, the nominees and winners celebrated the best film performances of the year, but the real show happened earlier on the red carpet, which was all white.
Many stars gave up grandeur and presented minimalistic but super elegant clothing sets.
While white emerged as the refreshing and winning consensus of the evening—from Emily Blunt, who glowed far and wide in a minimalist Valentino gown, to Sofia Carson in a dramatic Giambattista Valli piece—others said yes to color.
Cara Delevingne dazzled in red Elie Saab couture, but the Louis Vuitton dress that Cate Blanchett wore, with a shiny blue cape-like top, pretty much swallowed her up and we expected more from her.
Here are the best dressed, and the worst, from the 95th Academy Awards.
Rihanna
The most glamorous pregnant woman in the swamp subtly revealed her baby bump in an edgy brown golf dress and rocked a design from hot brand Alaia, which combined contrasting leather in a mini corset and maxi skirt with a long train.
dreamy

Cara Delevingne
Gathered as ever and glowing to the max in a mesmerizing red Elie Saab dress, which boasted an oversized flower on one shoulder, accessorized with Bulgari bling on her neck and wrist, and fiery red platform sandals by Stuart Weitzman.
Chameleon.

Nicole Kidman
When the star is precise, it's fine, and she proved it tonight in a spectacular, shimmering dress by Armani that boasted a ridiculously high slit, and if 3D flower decorations are what you do.
went for the flower motif.

Lady Gaga
We almost didn't recognize it, but it's Gaga in an intricate and bejeweled black Versace dress, straight from the Fall-Winter 2023 runway shown in LA last week, which featured a super low waistline, transparencies (also in the butt) and a ribbed bodice with pointed cups.
chilling

Sophia Carson
Definitely a princess, definitely a bride, in a dramatic white creation by Giambattista Valli with a precise cut-out under the bust, a silhouette that lengthened the torso, and precise styling choices that illuminated her - the gathered hair and the huge emerald and diamonds by Chopard.
A little too princessy.

Margo Ruby
Although she escaped from the white carpet, on the stage of the ceremony her spectacular look stood out in all its glory, when she wore a black sequin dress by Armani, which exposed her shoulders and presented a gorgeous cleavage.
maddening

Emily Blunt
She wore white and looked more elegant and tight than ever, in a long, tight, minimalist off-the-shoulder dress designed by the fashion house Valentino, with a Judith Lieber clutch team and a pop of color in her ears with magnificent ruby and diamond earrings by Chopard.

Cate Blanchett
Elegant, but the blue-black Louis Vuitton ensemble did her no favors, as the top part suffered from excess volume, and was too closed and too shiny.
Very disappointing.

Ana de Armas
A little anemic in a silver bejeweled Louis Vuitton dress, complete with Raffles-shaped bottoms, that just didn't have the wow factor we expected her to bring to the Oscars.

Florence Pugh
She never hesitates to make a fashion statement and turn heads on red carpets, and tonight she chose a Valentino Couture ensemble that revealed hot tiny shorts, on the border of underwear, that peeked out under a corset and a long lush trail including wonderful puffy sleeves.

Eva Longoria
There was a risk here with a very deep cleavage in a white, semi-transparent and decorated dress, including a thin scarf, by Zuhair Murad, in general - she quite succeeded.
It could be "cleaned up" a bit.

Ashley Graham
Continuing her streak of great looks lately, Graham is gorgeous in a custom Alberta Private block, which featured plays of transparencies and keys galore.
We would only give up the flower tower in her hair.

Vanessa Hudgens
Flolls in vintage Chanel - a black velvet strapless dress with a white title and ending and two prominent pockets, which hugged her body curves perfectly, and a cute touch on the nails.

Salma Hayek
Faithful to the shimmering, tight and sexy style we are used to getting from her.
A copper sequin dress that echoed "prom", but at a height, designed by the Gucci fashion house.

Halle Berry
Missed big.
From Tamara Ralph's dress, which is more reminiscent of beauty pageants and had a little too much of everything, i.e. toy roses and keys, to the short-curly hairstyle that clearly did not flatter her.

Elizabeth Olsen
Old Hollywood glam in a shimmering Givenchy dress, with a gorgeous flowing neckline and chiffon finish.
The look kind of matured her, and maybe if he had thrown in a smile everything would have looked different.
