This is how the 15th forum cities, the independent cities in Israel, announce today (Tuesday) in an unusual step, following the meeting held yesterday evening.
"As long as the government continues to promote these chapters," they say, "the forum will intensify the struggle, including shutting down the education system in Israeli cities."

The 15th Forum began its activities in 1999, at the joint initiative of the then mayor of Haifa, Mr. Amram Metzna, and the mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Mr. Ron Huldai, with the aim of uniting the largest and independent cities in Israel and working jointly with the government to decentralize powers from the central government to the local government .
Most of the major cities in Israel are represented in the forum, as well as most of the metropolises - the Haifa metropolis, the Tel Aviv metropolis and the center, and the Be'er Sheva metropolis and the south.
About a third of Israel's population lives in these cities, and about 80% of the country's population visits them on a daily basis.
