A minute of silence and arm in mourning in memory of the victims of the Steccato di Cutro shipwreck, with the two teams lined up together in midfield and the emotion of the six thousand spectators present in the stands of the Ezio Scida.

This is how Crotone and Catanzaro recalled, before the postponement of the Serie C championship, the 79 confirmed victims, plus about twenty missing, of the shipwreck of the boat loaded with migrants that took place in Steccato di Cutro at dawn on 26 February.

Crotone donated part of the proceeds from the match to the families of the victims and the survivors, while Catanzaro played with shirts made especially for the match which commemorate the deceased.

The shirts will then be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to charity for the victims of the shipwreck.

Crotone fans interrupted their anthems as a sign of mourning.

No Catanzaro fans in the stands, on the other hand, due to the ban on the sale of tickets ordered after the incidents that occurred during the first leg match.

The same Crotone fans, in recent days, had posted a banner outside the Palamilone, where the bodies of the 79 who died in the shipwreck were housed, calling for "truth and justice" for what happened.

The journalists present in the press gallery, as happened on the occasion of the national demonstration held last Saturday in Steccato di Cutro, held up during the minute's silence and then wore the badge of their Afghan colleague Amarkhel Torpekai around their necks during the match , activist for women's rights, who died in the shipwreck.

Badge that was found on the journalist's Facebook profile.
