Navigo pass: the compensation platform opens this Tuesday

2023-03-14T16:36:28.146Z

All subscribers who purchased at least three months of the plan between September and December 2022 can request a refund, until April 14.

It's a first.

Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) compensates Navigo Pass subscribers after the multiple network degradations that occurred between September and December 2022. SNCF and RATP users can apply for reimbursement as of today.

The vast majority of them receive a refund of €37.60 (for the full price subscription), equivalent to half a month's package.

To do this, go to the "

compensation

" section on the IDFM website where a special platform has been opened for a month.

Proof of payment and an Île-de-France Mobilités Connect account are sufficient.

All types of subscription are supported (Navigo Month, Annual, Senior, Imagine R, Solidarity).

3.4 million people affected

IDFM details on its website that there are two reimbursement campaigns.

The first responds to quality of service defects between September and December 2022. Navigo subscribers can benefit from compensation of half a month's package (€37.60) upon proof of three months' payment.

The other campaign intends to forgive the delays.

IDFM noted that over the whole of 2022, 5 axes (trains and RER combined) of the 68 existing ones had a punctuality of less than 80% for the year.

Four of them are on the RER B, the fifth is on the RER D. On some RER B journeys, this 80% punctuality bar is not crossed for 6 to 8 months in the year.

It is in these cases that a full month's subscription can be refunded, if the user can justify six months of purchase during the months when the 80% punctuality was not respected.

200,000 users would be affected according to IDFM, which specifies that the two campaigns can be combined.

In all, some 3.4 million people are affected by this unprecedented operation, announced by Valérie Pécresse in early February.

Breakdowns, cancellations and other delays had made travel in the capital and its outskirts difficult in the fall of 2022. It is with this in mind that the president of IDFM had decided to use the 60 million euros not paid to the RATP and the SNCF (in the context of services not provided by the latter) to compensate users.

Reimbursement is made exclusively by bank transfer.

Moreover, it is not immediate: “

A maximum of three weeks elapses between a request finalized and validated by Île-de-France Mobilités and the moment when the transfer is visible on your account.

This period may be longer when there are supporting documents to verify

, ”we can read on the IDFM site.

Please note that the platform will close on April 14, after which it will no longer be possible to request compensation.
