The meeting addresses a central theme for the future of the tourism sector, namely sustainability.
After the dramatic pause inflicted by the covid, the data on tourist presences in Italy are once again positive and at the end of the year Istat certified a substantial recovery for 2022 but not yet at the pre-covid levels of 2019 with a negative balance of 39 million presences in less.
But things are going well, let's see how they go next Easter and we aim, as Minister Santanchè has said several times, to overtake.
According to the forecasts of the Demoskopika institute, there will be over 442 million admissions with a growth of 12.2% compared to 2022 but above all constituting the highest value ever.
As for arrivals, they are estimated at almost 127 million - the third highest figure, the top was in 2019 with 131 million followed by 2018 with 128 - with an increase of 11.2% on last year.
Driving effect on tourist spending which, in absolute value, would be close to the threshold of 89 billion euros with an estimated growth of 22.8% compared to 2022.
Adrio Maria De Carolis president of SWG will show the tables of a research created especially for this occasion on the importance of environmental sustainability in the tourist choices of Italians.
