"I think it's right to make your voice heard and demonstrate, but this has now become a political problem. I would like Parliament and in particular our political side to expose themselves".
This was stated by the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, commenting on the stop to the transcription of the children of same-parent couples imposed on the Municipality and the protest garrison
scheduled for Saturday in front of the prefecture.
"I also discussed it with the new Pd secretary Elly Schlein - he concluded - who agrees on the fact that this is now a political issue to be regulated. Let them say what they want to do".
The mayor will probably not participate in the demonstration organized by Sentinelli and Rainbow Families, among others.

I don't think I will go to the demonstration on Saturday. For Sala, however, "it is not a battle against the government. It is a battle that engages my political side. At this moment we have decided to do so, to interrupt, and it is not a
question of political courage because I don't lack that. But I don't want to give illusions to the families - he added - I don't want to do something that is then challenged by the prosecutor a few weeks later. Because otherwise it would be a really nice mess".
"Now the thing that worries me - he added - is that, if until two days ago it seemed that the registration of children of two women born abroad was safeguarded, the prefect told me instead that the Public Prosecutor's Office challenged
four of these cases".
"I don't blame anyone because everyone does their part, but it seems to me an escalation that goes towards a return to the past and the denial of some rights - he added - The point is not so much to blame the Cassation, which does its part, the problem is that politics has to say what it thinks on such an issue".
The comment also harsh from the secretary of +Europa Riccardo Magi: "Faced with such a serious vacuum in the protection of children's rights, recognized in 2021 also by the Constitutional Court, the Government's position is unacceptable and cruel. We are well aware that the positions of this right on egalitarian marriage, on adoptions by same-parent couples, on Medically Assisted Procreation and on Gestation for Others are diametrically opposed to ours, but today the theme is to protect the rights of children already born to have a family that guarantees them maintenance, education, inheritance rights, regardless of how they are born".
For Magi "it is not tolerable in a European country that there still exists a category of children who, by the will of the State, risk being 'unrecognizable'. For this reason, since the beginning of the Legislature we have filed a Bill that goes in the opposite direction with respect to the serious decision taken yesterday by the Senate against the European Regulation for the recognition of equal rights for children of parents of the same sex.It is - continues Magi - an extremely punctual, non-ideological proposal, which does not enter into the merits of the requisites necessary to access medically assisted procreation techniques in Italy, but limits itself to clarifying that any child, regardless of how they were born, must have the right to be recognized by the two parents who wanted to bring them into the world.I hope - concludes the secretary of +Europe - that it gathers the consent of all the oppositions".
