Jackie Kennedy buys the house built in the 1790s, in December 1963, a week after moving out of the White House.
She only stayed there for a year, then fleeing to New York with her children, after the property became a tourist attraction.

If at that time, the building was 650 m², its surface is now 1,514 m², after the adjoining houses were attached to it.
