The “NeoTaste” app promises restaurant visitors to save a lot of money.

One of the founders explains the concept - and reveals the start-up's new goals.

Hamm/Dortmund - A crispy schnitzel in the restaurant, a cold beer in the pub, a juicy piece of apple pie in the café - the world of gastronomy has countless hearty, tasty and sweet delights in store.

Especially after the corona pandemic, people are increasingly flocking to the bars again and indulging in culinary delights.

A fairly new app now wants to reinforce this – guests can even save quite a bit of money with it.

NeoTaste

conquers the tables and counters in NRW and throughout Germany.

Save money with vouchers: The NeoTaste app is designed to help restaurants attract new regulars

“Gastronomy is constantly reinventing itself.

Especially after Corona, many people want to draw attention to themselves in order to attract guests.

We can greatly speed up attracting new regulars.

For restaurateurs, that's a good bill before the table remains free," explains Lars Osterloh from

NeoTaste

in

an interview with

wa.de.

He and his fellow start-ups mostly come from Oldenburg in Lower Saxony, where it all started in the north.

"We all come from Lower Saxony, so Hanover was the obvious place to serve because it's the state capital with a good mix of restaurants.

Apparently our idea was well received – and we started developing it,” says Osterloh.

But the founders of the start-up NeoTaste

quickly encountered their first major setback

.

"Corona set us back three or four weeks after the launch of our app," says Osterloh.

The innkeepers had to close their bars and restaurants due to the pandemic.

"So our vouchers could no longer be redeemed," he says.

Nevertheless, the founders did not think of quitting, but rather of expansion.

They believed in their idea.

“We used the forced Corona break to prepare for the reopening.

At the same time, we were already trying to find other restaurants in Osnabrück," explains Osterloh - apparently with success.

NeoTaste

grows and grows - the idea behind it is as simple as it is ingenious.

NeoTaste costs money every month – in return, restaurant deals and vouchers offer savings

The customer loads an app onto his smartphone and logs in.

If you refer a friend, you get a month free, otherwise you have to pay 4.99 euros/month, with an annual subscription it would be 2.99 euros/month – an investment that could be worthwhile for many restaurant visitors.

In return, the restaurateurs who are represented at

NeoTaste

offer various deals, such as “2for1 main course” or “dessert on the house” with the main course.

Meanwhile (as of March 15, 2023)

NeoTaste

is represented in eleven cities, including many restaurants in Essen:

  • Bochum (112 deals)

  • Bonn (108 deals)

  • Dortmund (131 deals)

  • Dusseldorf (143 deals)

  • Food (148 Deals)

  • Hamburg (303 deals)

  • Hanover (60 Deals)

  • Cologne (324 deals)

  • Munster (97 deals)

  • Oldenburg (213 deals)

  • Osnabrueck (150 deals)

“We have almost 1000 restaurant partners, eleven cities are live and two more – Frankfurt and Munich – are in the starting blocks.

At the end of November we will have 100,000.

Users registered, meanwhile there are 160,000 people.

It's a trend to see that we're growing faster and faster," said Lars Osterloh of

NeoTaste

.

"We are bringing more and more horsepower to the road and are satisfied with the development," he says.

And the development is set to continue: “Our goal is to have 80 cities in our portfolio.

I'm excited to see where it's going.

After Frankfurt and Munich, it won't be long before we cover the other big cities in Germany - and then it can only get bigger."
