Su Yun, who lives in a village outside the city of Kunming in China's Yunnan Province, adopted what she thought was a Tibetan Mastiff puppy during a vacation in 2016. The
Tibetan Mastiff is a huge dog with thick black-brown fur, with males weighing up to 70 kilograms.
Sue didn't suspect anything but said she was surprised by her dog's insatiable appetite, which would devour a box of fruit and two buckets of noodles every day.
Two years later, Sue's pet reached a weight of 115 kilograms and has not stopped growing.
She was quick to claim that size doesn't matter, but when she noticed her dog's extraordinary ability to walk on two legs, she already realized that something was suspicious about him.
"The bigger he gets, the more he looks like a bear," Su told Chinese media.

The owner's growing suspicions about her pet's true nature did not go down well with her as she admitted she was "a bit afraid of bears".
She reached out to the authorities, who quickly identified her dog as an Asian black bear, which is classified as a vulnerable species in terms of extinction.

The strange story was first reported back in 2018, but went viral again this week.
An Asiatic black bear, also known as a Himalayan bear or a moon bear, can weigh up to 180 kilograms and be 130 to 190 cm long. Sue's bear, who had been living in her home all this time, was transferred to the Yunnan Wildlife Rescue Headquarters - and only after being anesthetized. Because the staff members who came to collect him were afraid to interact with the wild animal while it was fully awake,
officials have since reported that the bear is living a healthy and happy life in its new home.
