You need the following ingredients for the avocado mousse au chocolat

  • 50 g dark chocolate, roughly chopped


  • 2 avocados, pitted and skinless


  • 50 g cocoa powder (+ extra for dusting)


  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract


  • 50 ml maple syrup


  • A pinch of sea salt

The preparation of the avocado mousse au chocolate is so easy and quick

  • To melt the chopped chocolate in a double boiler, place the chocolate in a small bowl and place over a saucepan of hot water.

    Make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water.

    Let the water simmer on low.

    Heat the chocolate, stirring, until melted and smooth.

  • Blend the melted chocolate with the remaining ingredients in a food processor until smooth, or alternatively use a whisk (this will take a little longer).

    Spoon the mousse into four or six serving glasses or bowls, cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.

    Martini glasses are recommended for an impressive presentation.

  • To decorate, use a small sieve to sprinkle some cocoa powder over the mousse before serving.
