How the cause for the tragedy of the youngest son of Ramón Díaz continues on the road

2023-03-16T01:31:05.015Z

Michael (37) is in custody and has not yet testified in court. His wife and the driver of another vehicle died in the head-on collision.

The cause of the fatal crash in which the

youngest son of soccer coach Ramón Díaz, Michael

(37), was the main actor, keeps him apprehended and with the possibility that the prosecution request his arrest, after the death of his wife Bárbara Oliver (32) and the driver with whom he collided, Aldo Flaqué (65), on Tuesday.

The former San Lorenzo player was transferred from the Julio de Vedia Hospital to the Anchorena Sanatorium this morning, where the doctors are evaluating whether he will undergo surgery.

Michael is lucid,

judicial sources  told

Clarín .

The DT's son suffered a

fractured femur and chest trauma

as a result of the impact of his black Dodge RAM truck, in the direction of Bragado - July 9, and the Renault Kangoo utility truck at kilometer 252.5 of Route 5, at the height of July 9.

"Prosecutor Lisandro Masson did not investigate the defendant for double culpable homicide. It is not known if he will be able to do it either, it

depends on what the doctors decide according to his psychological situation

and transfer to the Mercedes prosecutor's office since if he is operated on it is complicated, "they explain. judicial sources to

.

So far, the results of the expert opinion or the toxicological tests have not been delivered.

The results of the autopsies of Oliver and Flaqué, a former volunteer firefighter from the Buenos Aires town of 25 de Mayo, were not obtained either.

The Prosecutor's Office No. 4 of Mercedes was able to advance with the taking of testimonial statements from the witnesses who were moments before and after the event, near the area where the trucks collided.

In the collision, the two vehicles collided head-on.

"It is confirmed that

Díaz crossed the other lane and apparently both avoided colliding and did not succeed

. It is still being investigated why the defendant crossed the lane," say sources of the investigation.

The collision occurred on the shoulder of the lane.

The crash occurred at 11:30 a.m. and under torrential rain.

The wife of the former soccer player

was thrown from the vehicle, since she was not wearing a seat belt

and died instantly.

The former firefighter also passed away at that time.

The next thing that the prosecutor must resolve is whether to request the arrest of Díaz to the Guarantee Court No. 3 of Mercedes.

If the request is made, Judge Patricio Guillermo Arrieta will decide if he grants or denies the preventive measure.

Despite the fact that Oliver and Díaz's son, Milo (8), was in the truck with his parents, he survived.

"The boy went with his grandmother, after he passed through the Julio de Vedia Hospital. What happened to him was not discussed," the same sources maintain.

This contradicts the versions that affirm that the son of Ramón Díaz used the cell phone and Milo asked him not to.

In fact, they clarify that

"in the case it was not found that at the time of the accident the accused was using his cell phone."

Milo was not injured in the accident, although he remains psychologically contained at the 9 de Julio care center.

For his part, the former River Plate coach took a flight from Saudi Arabia, where he leads the Al-Hilal team, along with his other son Emiliano.

His arrival at the Ezeiza airport is expected to be this afternoon.

Michael followed in his father's footsteps.

He had a brief stint as a professional soccer player in San Lorenzo and later went through various promotion clubs and regional leagues such as San Telmo, Defensores de Belgrano, Ferro Carril Oeste de Trenque Lauquen and Deportivo Urdinarrain, from Gualeguaychú.

He also went through the Club Indios de Chihuahua, in Mexico.
