(ANSA) - MILAN, MARCH 16 - Closure with a marked increase for Piazza Affari, on an extremely volatile day, which saw the Ftse Mib index fluctuate between a maximum increase of 2.38% and a drop as low as 1.02%.
The main index finished trading up 1.38%, at 25,918 points, supported by the liquidity provided by the Swiss Central Bank to Credit Suisse, by rumors about the rescue of First Republic Bank by the big American banks and by an ECB which reassured the soundness of the European banking system and removed any mention of future rate hikes from its press release.
