(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 16 - The barriers placed by the code on wiretapping have not always been given "due consideration" and "this has perhaps led to the excessive use of wiretapping in some cases".
This was stated by the vice president of the CSM Fabio Pinelli in a debate.
Pinelli drew attention to the publication in the newspapers of judicial attorneys "riddled with telephone interceptions" in a phase in which the suspect "was unable to speak".
"Once the wiretaps are published and the reputational damage is done, it's a tragedy from which there is no turning back," he warned.
