The governor of Misiones, Oscar Herrera Ahuad, and the president of the provincial Legislature, Carlos Rovira, inaugurated the first
Silicon Misiones
building , a site designed to promote
technological development and the knowledge economy
in that province in the north of the country.
The modern building installed near the Posadas airport has
a covered area of 1,800 square meters
, but the project provides for other buildings to complete a total of 7,000 square meters.
The energy will come from
two photovoltaic parks
installed in the area, with an investment of more than one
billion pesos
and the capacity to generate 5 MW, more than enough for Silicon's needs.
Silicon Misiones has already confirmed
the landing of 15 companies
interested in the
innovation model
promoted by the provincial government, but they estimate that by the end of the year there will be more than 30 firms operating there, with local talent.
In general, small emerging companies are targeted, with a high technological component, great growth possibilities and that land with innovative ideas.
In the technological world they are known as start-ups

At the inauguration, which took place this Thursday afternoon, Governor Herrera Ahuad did not hesitate to describe the day as "a historic day" because "it inserts the province in the world, as a power in the knowledge economy

One of the spaces in the new building, where there are already companies interested in joining.
"Misiones, in the knowledge economy and employment in the software industry, is among the three provinces with
the highest year-on-year percentage increase in the country
, reaching almost 70% in recent years," said the president.
And he predicted that "in the coming years, the knowledge economy will be
the most important added value
that the export system of Misiones will have."
As an incentive for the firms that bet on Silicon Misiones, the Province will give them
subsidies of five million pesos
in projects so that they can be developed.
"We are going to contribute to the establishment of all those companies that come," added Herrera Ahuad.
So far there are 15 provincial and national companies that have confirmed their interest in being part of this project.
These are firms dedicated to the development of software, mobile and web applications, and software for the industry.
To settle there, they must meet two requirements:
