(ANSA) - TOKYO, MARCH 17 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange starts its last session of the week on the rise, while the fearful contagion of financial institutions in Europe and the United States is easing.
At the opening, the reference index Nikkei marks a progress of 0.69% to 27,196.73, with a gain of 186 points.
On the currency front, the yen is losing ground again against the dollar at a level of 133.40 and against the euro at 141.60, after the increase in interest rates decided by the ECB.
