(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 18 - Wyoming is the first American state to ban abortion pills, according to the American media.
Those who "prescribe, dispense, distribute, sell, or use any drug for the purpose of procuring or performing an abortion" face up to six months in prison and a fine of up to $9,000." However, the new provision adds that women "who are performed or attempted a chemical abortion will not face criminal prosecution,” says the new law signed by the Republican governor of Wyoming, Mark Gordon, after it was approved by state legislators earlier this month.
