The "Blue Collar" forum led by the Craftsmen and Industry Association, the Renovation Contractors Association, the Garage Association and the Air Conditioning Association are calling on the state to intervene following a drastic decrease in receiving jobs and income.

According to the heads of the forum, there has been a sharp drop in the last two months in work, on average over 25%.

Renovation industry experts report a 25% drop just before Passover, known as the "renovation holiday";

The air conditioning workers report an injury of about 35% and the small industry workers also report a decrease of 25%;

The mechanics talk about a decrease in the scope of work by about 30%.

"Our option is to close business"

The heads of the forum call on the government to return to the talks and end the saga of reform and demonstrations.

"While high-tech has the option of taking money out of the state, we have one option and that is to close businesses. If someone from the government doesn't wake up, they will see a wave of small business closures here in the coming months."

Eran Siev, chairman of the Renovation Contractors Association, says that: "120 members of Knesset whose salary is guaranteed are playing ego games and putting their hands down while hurting the middle class.

I've been in the field for 20 years and I don't remember such a sharp drop without a war or an epidemic."

Yossi Alkovi Chairman of the Association of Craftsmen and Industry: "We feel a decrease in the amount of orders in the industry, we believe that members of Knesset on the right and left must sit down and talk and resolve it as soon as possible otherwise we will have to take steps to protect our people."

Ronan Levy, Chairman of the Association of Garage Owners in Israel: "Recently, there has been a severe slowdown in the number of entries to garages. When I start receiving calls about a problem with salary payments at the end of the month, I know that the worst is yet to come."
