Integrating ChatGpt-powered AI into the company's work-focused products is at the heart of the next generation of AI-enhanced software showcased by Microsoft at its online event "The Future of Work with AI."
Called 'Microsoft 365 Copilot' the new software provides the opportunity to let the company's platform perform some tasks previously performed manually by humans.
For example, letting Copilot draft a Word document from a few pointers, or draw a PowerPoint slide with just a few details and adding slides as the user completes a reference file.
Not even the transposition of ChatGpt is missing,
the famous chatbot that Microsoft has already brought into the Bing web search, within the service called 'Business Chat'.
This feature combines the chatbot's core AI with Microsoft 365 apps, such as calendar, email, meetings, and contacts, to do things people couldn't do before.
"With requests in natural language", notes Microsoft, "you will be able to update the information of an appointment in the morning, send emails and create summary notes".
You will be able to access Business Chat from Microsoft 365.com, from Bing when signed in with your Azure Active Directory corporate identity, or from Teams.
As pointed out by Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President, Modern Work & Business Applications at Microsoft:
“To help people focus on the top 20% and free up 80% of time consumed by secondary tasks, Copilot helps lighten the load on workers. From summarizing long email threads to quickly writing suggested responses , the software helps clear your inbox in minutes and summarize key meeting points on Teams (the group's video calling app). And with Copilot in Power Platform, anyone can automate repetitive tasks, create chatbots and go from an idea to creating an application in minutes".
