Imagine you are on a video call with over 30,000 people and you need to talk.
For some people, the hairs on the back of their necks stand up just thinking about it.
The scientist Ellie Hurer experienced exactly that, she is in a call with over 30,000 people, including the best scientists in the world.
As she spoke, her dog can be heard gagging in the background – the woman is visibly disconcerted by this.

The video call moment is captured on TikTok
The event was in 2021, but only a few days ago the scientist shared the moment on her own TikTok account.
@myphdexperience I cant even watch it anymore because i cringe so much 😂🥲 #dogbarf #funnydog #funnydogs #zoommeetingfails #embarrassing ♬ original sound - Ellie Hurer
The video has been online since March 14, since then over 3,000 people have commented on it and over 215,000 people have liked it.
Hurer is seen leaning forward a little when she hears strange noises in the background.
Maybe she's hoping that the microphone won't pick up her dog's noises, but that's a fallacy.
Reactions from TikTok users: "You see the focus disappear"
"I love how she leans forward, like that's blocking the sound.
🤣”
"I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life."
"You see the focus disappear."
"I swear dogs do this on purpose... 🤣"
"Tears are running down my cheeks..."
"Every time I see this, I die of laughter."
"Oh my god, that's me on every video call."
