(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MARCH 21 - Talks between Brussels and Berlin "are underway to ensure that the agreement" on stopping petrol and diesel engines in 2035 will be voted "in a positive way as soon as possible".
This was stated by an EU spokesman, commenting on the stalemate that has persisted for weeks on the final ratification of the agreement, blocked by the reservations of Germany, Italy, Bulgaria and Poland.
Brussels is committed to "offering the necessary reassurances in particular to the German authorities on the interpretation of the agreement" to "clarify" in particular "the role of e-fuels", highlighted the spokesman, saying he was "confident" about the possibility of "reaching an agreement ".
