, Palme d'Or at Cannes, is not coming to present a new feature film in preview.
He hasn't touched a camera since
Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood
, released in the summer of 2019. His tenth and final film is still just a script.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter , Tarantino would shoot
The Movie Critic
in the fall , inspired by Pauline Kael, the fearsome
New Yorker
film critic.
- she shot Kubrick and Lean, defended Coppola, Peckinpah and De Palma.
The story would take place in Los Angeles in the late 1970s. It fits more or less with Kael's brief stint in Hollywood, when Warren Beatty advised her to drop the pen to play producer.
The experience lasts six months.
This is all just speculation, an exercise Tarantino loves.
Tarantino didn't miss a paper from Kael.
He quotes it several times in
