(ANSA) - PALERMO, MARCH 21 - The sister of Matteo Messina Denaro, Rosalia, who was arrested in recent weeks for mafia association, remains in prison.
This was decided by the Court of Review of Palermo which rejected the application for release presented by the woman's lawyers and ordered her to pay the costs.
Rosalia Messina Denaro is accused by the prosecutors of the DDA of having managed the cash register of the clan and the communications network of her brother during her fugitive.
Dozens of her pizzini found in her home in Castelvetrano and Campobello di Mazara.
One of the notes discovered by the Carabinieri del Ros, in December, while they were planting a bug in the house of Messina Denaro, hidden inside the cavity of a chair, gave input to the investigation that led to the arrest of the mafia boss.
The investigation is coordinated by the Palermo prosecutor Maurizio de Lucia, by the deputy Paolo Guido and by the substitutes Piero Padova and Gianluca De Leo.
