Eleven robberies in six months.

Hits carried out at the home of elderly victims who were being drugged.

For this reason, two women were arrested today by the carabinieri as part of an investigation by the Rome prosecutor's office.

The sleeping pill robberies are accused of carrying out 11 hits and a theft between September and March.

One of the two had already been definitively sentenced to 11 years in prison.

This is Natascia Glaudi, 50, accused of manslaughter.

According to what emerges from the investigating judge's order, the woman, about twenty years ago, was convicted of having caused the death of an elderly person by administering psychoactive substances, in particular benzodiazepines.

A modus operandi quite similar to the one contested today against her and her accomplice, Meghi Lucchesi, 30 years old.

The total value of the jewels and money taken from the victims amounts to around 160,000 euros.

The investigations by the investigators, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Giovanni Conzo, were triggered after a robbery that took place on 9 September 2022 against a ninety-year-old in the via di Bravetta area.

In the circumstance a woman, after having approached the elderly man on the street with an excuse and convinced him to return home in her company, drugged him with a drink: probably a mix made of drugs and narcotics.

Taking advantage of his state of confusion, he took away his ATM, cash and mobile phone, to avoid calling for help.

In this circumstance the elderly man, probably due to his age and the excessive use of narcotics, remained asleep in bed for about two days.

His family members gave the alarm to the carabinieri, worried because they were unable to contact him in any way.

Inside the house, the victim was found in a complete state of confusion to the point of not being able to speak or report circumstances useful for the investigation.

In the apartment, the investigators managed to find a prescription and a receipt from a pharmacy in the area where the elderly man had previously been.

By sifting through the images of the cameras of the pharmacy and other shops in the neighborhood, the carabinieri managed to reconstruct the victim's soliciting phase and to identify the vehicle used by the suspects.

The subsequent phase of the investigation made it possible to gather serious evidence against the two women under investigation for further other cases of robbery and a burglary at home.

The fundamental part of the criminal action, as found by the carabinieri, was that of soliciting the victim, through a careful activity that could last even weeks and which often took the form of the offer of gifts (for example during the month of December the poinsettia), aimed at stealing the trust of the elderly and gaining access to the inside of his home.

The suspects paid close attention to make any trace of their passage disappear, including the containers in which the narcotic administered to the victim was dissolved.
