A former football promise ends up on trial for the heavy charges of stalking, extortion and defamation against a woman with whom he had been romantically linked.

This is the parable of Angelo Paradiso, 46, a former midfielder who played for Lazio and Naples, today indicted by the Rome gup which has set the trial for next June 7th

.

 The man is currently

under house arrest

, a measure that has been applied to him in recent months as, despite already being investigated by the public prosecutors in Piazzale Clodio, he continued to harass his ex, model and actress.

Threats that began in September 2021 when the footballer, who was

present today in the courtroom

before the judge of the Capital, began to target the woman after the end of their relationship.

Obsessive behaviors

that were replicated daily: the man showed up at every public event where he knew his ex was present and came to present himself as his manager.

His goal was to try to reconnect with the woman.

Threats, over time, have become explicit with increasingly aggressive messages.

"If we break up I'll burn your car and the restaurant", real blackmail that also invaded the professional sphere of women.

In fact, Paradiso was ready to make scorched earth around her.

"You will never work again, I will destroy you"

, she wrote to her.

After a series of complaints presented by the victim, in May last year, the agents of the Flying Squad also investigated an

alleged case of revenge porn,

an accusation that was later dropped.

The agents acquired the man's cell phone to check if an intimate video of the victim was posted on the net from the device.

Furthermore, the man would also have opened

false social profiles that he used to insult the ex

.

Paradiso will therefore have to face a trial, a legal case that comes after

a football career that began in the Lazio youth team

, continued in Naples, when the Neapolitan club played in Serie B. His best moment was lived in Lecce, in the 1999/2000 season where he also strung together some appearances in the Serie A championship. After with the Apulian club, other experiences in Cesena and Ravenna and abroad in the Swiss and Malta championships.
