Sun and heat in the first week of Spring: the climate will in fact be temperate, rains will be rare if not a few in the Alps on Friday, but a rapid worsening of the weather conditions is likely for Sunday.
Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the website www.iLMeteo.it, confirms that this week will definitively take us out of the winter darkness, both because after the Equinox the hours of light will be longer than the hours of darkness, and because the weather will return to being sunny everywhere.
Until the Autumn Equinox, explains the meteorologist, the hours of light will always be greater than those of darkness, and this means that the days will gradually tend to warm up more and more.
Lots of light, lots of sun and summer time will also come into force from next Sunday.
Thus, from Sunday 26 March, the sun will set at around 7.40 pm in Milan, 7.30 pm in Rome and 7.20 pm in Naples with twilight which however will illuminate Italy until at least 8 pm from North to South. Only today will fast thunderstorms at times intense in the South, but later the weather will return dry and sunny everywhere.
The maximum temperatures will rise, but not by much: they will stop until Friday around 20-22°C at the most,
then a blast of warmer air is expected over the extreme southern regions over the weekend with a possible 26-27 degrees.
In the North, especially far from the sea, the maximum temperatures will still be at least 3-4 points higher than the climatological values of the period: normally 16-17 degrees are expected in the Po Valley at the end of March, we will have 19-21.
In summary, good news from the weather, except for the drought: at the moment, meteorological models do not predict rainfall in the North-West (the area most affected by the drought) at least until the first week of April.
