The story began in 2016, when Paltrow spent time at a ski resort in Ottawa.
According to a civil lawsuit filed against her by Dr.
Terry Sanderson
, Gwyneth collided with him while surfing and left him seriously injured before fleeing the scene. The lawsuit described that Sanderson was left with irreversible brain damage, broken ribs and other injuries for which he is demanding $300,000 in damages "Her behavior was negligent and

deliberately ignored people," Sanderson's attorney said. Paltrow claimed she stayed by Sanderson's side and left the scene only after getting permission from local guides.

Paltrow, for her part, is asking Sanderson for a symbolic compensation of only one dollar and to cover legal expenses.
Her lawyer claimed that Sanderson was the one who bumped into her, saying that a previous stroke had left him with vision and hearing problems, making it difficult for him to see the actress.
The lawyer also claimed that documentation of the accident mysteriously disappeared.
