(ANSA) - SANTIAGO DE CHILE, MARCH 22 - The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, held an interview with his counterpart from Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, in which he reiterated his country's support for efforts to achieve peace in the context of the Russian invasion.
"Today we spoke again with President Zelensky. We discussed the course of the war, the suffering of a people and the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and we reaffirmed Chile's support for all efforts in multilateral spaces to achieve peace," he wrote. Boric on Twitter at the end of the video call with the president of Ukraine.
Zelensky in turn always thanked on Twitter "(Chile's) cooperation in international forums" and claimed to have had a conversation with Boric "on strengthening the support of Latin America".
According to the Ukrainian head of state, Boric "praised" the decision of the ICC regarding the creation of a special court".
The two had already had a conversation in July, in which Boric had expressed his support for Ukraine and his willingness to condemn the Russian invasion at international organizations
"Ukraine has a friend in South America, both now and at the end of the war", Boric said on that occasion.
