(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MARCH 22 - The Fed raises interest rates by 0.25%.

The cost of money thus rises by a range between 4.75% and 5%.

With the mini-tighten, the American central bank confirms its determination in the fight against inflation.

Some further interest rate hikes may be appropriate, the Fed added at the end of the two-day meeting.
