Sustainability is the keyword of the 2023 edition of Fritto Misto, the event that celebrates the great Italian fries and which has now characterized the long spring break between 25 April, Liberation Day, and that of Workers, 1 May, for nineteen years.
The city of Ascoli Piceno will once again be the scene of the great event with its marvelous architecture which, during the ten days of the event, will offer thousands of visitors its extraordinary heritage of churches, squares and museums.
From April 22nd to May 1st, the city in the Marche region will host the largest Italian fried food show in Piazza Arringo with about thirty specialties that are tangible evidence of the richness and variety of the Italian gastronomic tradition.
Each of the specialties is a symbol of each place and of a people: stuffed olives, fried dumplings with Emilian ham, Neapolitan cuoppo, arancini, Sicilian cannoli, Apulian panzerotti, supplì and Roman cod, fried cheese Apulian.
All specialties that will be the protagonists of the Palafritto, the large and widespread cuisine that will host chefs from all over Italy.
In recent years, the concept of food quality, which has been the leitmotif of the event since the first editions, has been decisively supported by the word sustainability in the awareness that the goal of offering food with a reduced environmental impact is today an essential objective .
Today Fritto Misto is a completely Plastic Free event, complete with certification that makes it the first event of its kind in the Marche region, where the presence of plastic has been completely banned in favor of compostable material both in the service of food and in that of drink.
The novelty of the next edition of Fritto Misto is called Fritto Misto Social Club, a pavilion where cooks, producers, musicians, actors and writers will meet to tell stories and anecdotes related to food and wine from various territories, giving life to unprecedented situations.
A kind of melting pot where characters of various backgrounds from various worlds will meet by crossing their experiences.
Partners of the event are the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno, the Marche Region, the Consorzio Vini Piceni, Silvio Meletti, Adriatica Oli.
